The Bosch Institute Chamber Music Ensemble is a creative collaboration between composer/guitarist Daniel Arite and poet/sound artist Thandiwe Shiphrah. Since 1999, the duo has been captivating audiences with innovative concert performances that feature Arite’s original compositions and new arrangements of jazz standards combined with Shiphrah’s jazz-infused poetry. Their “audio-collages” are characterized by a playful inventiveness, dynamic sound art, and music influenced by classical, blues, and folk. The Bosch Institute enjoys collaborating and has worked with a talented cast of instrumentalists, operatic and jazz vocalists, and spoken word artists. Their concerts are passionate and playful, inspiring and entertaining and adaptable for a range of venues -from festival stages to concert halls and cultural centers to museums, schools and libraries. Both performers are also teaching artists and seasoned facilitators, offering a variety of workshops and residencies for adults and youth.
